The drop in view, a board underfoot
Virtual reality and real stimuli: on a plank over the edge of the “Meteo” roof, in the middle of Zurich main station, for SRF at the first Swiss Digital Day.
In November 2017 the “Meteo” roof, from which SRF Meteo has presented live since 2002, was rebuilt as a VR world. What the headset showed was also physically there: the plank in the model lay as a real board in the station, and a wind machine made the gusts felt.
The way began at the spot of the “Meteo” presenter and led out onto the plank. Onlookers changed the weather at the push of a button.
For the second Digital Day in October 2018 the installation was extended and used again. Part of the collaboration with SRF.
