Behind Robert Bösch’s camera, on the Ewigschneefeld
The making-of of the 150 Peaks Project’s kick-off: Robert Bösch photographs a world map of people in red on the Ewigschneefeld.
With it, Mammut celebrated its 150th anniversary, with 150 rope teams on 150 summits worldwide. For the kick-off in August 2011, Mammut invited people from all over the world to the Jungfraujoch, to a basecamp of 150 expedition tents. While Robert Bösch photographed them below on the Ewigschneefeld as a world map, an all-round image of the set was made in 15 minutes.
It shows the formation with raised arms and red ropes in front of the icefalls, so finely resolved that every face stays recognisable.
Later, images from this commission shaped a meeting room at Mammut, at the agency’s request. The start of the collaboration with Mammut.
