Two photographers, two generations
Two photographers, almost sixty years apart: “Top of the Alps” at the Glacier Garden Lucerne.
From the air: the helicopter panoramas of Willi P. Burkhardt, born 1922, who helped develop one of the first rotating panoramic cameras. From the ground: three walk-in rotundas with the panoramas of Matthias Taugwalder, born 1981, of the Titlis, the Mont Blanc area and the mountains around Zermatt, climbed on foot and photographed especially for the exhibition.
With them, an image station with a touchscreen, where the panoramas could be explored down to the last detail. A dot on the ridge turned into a climber with ice axe and crampons.
The exhibition ran from November 2011 to September 2012, with the accompanying programme “Bergwelten im Gletschergarten”.
