A grim distortion of Disneyland
Banksy’s “Dismaland” in late summer 2015, in high-resolution all-round images, visitors and staff included.
For five weeks Banksy showed ten new works in the disused Tropicana lido in Weston-super-Mare, England, with works by 58 artists, among them Damien Hirst and Jenny Holzer.
The all-round images reach from the fire pit with its deckchairs across the moat to the crumbling fairy-tale castle and the Ferris wheel. By the fairground stalls, Mike Ross’s “Big Rig Jig” towers over the crowd.
Some 150,000 people visited the park before it closed at the end of September 2015. The images were made without a commission and were licensed to the Daily Mail and VIEW magazine.
