The Sechseläuten, from the front row
Up close at Zurich’s Sechseläuten, from exclusive perspectives: with the Zunft zur Waag guild until the Böögg explodes, for Blick.
The camera marched with the guild members to the festival. Böögg builder Lukas Meier talks about his snowman of wood wool, packed with firecrackers.
On the Limmatquai below the Grossmünster the camera stands at the front of the crowd as the Zunft zur Waag’s float, drawn by four horses, passes close by. At 6 pm the bonfire on the Sechseläutenplatz catches fire; the film stays until the Böögg’s head explodes after 17 minutes 44 seconds.
Two days after the festival the film ran on blick.ch. Part of the collaboration with Blick.
